How can I check whether silver is genuine without a hallmark?
Published by Karl Martin Karus 3 days ago
Gold price (XAU-SEK)
41207,70 SEK/oz
- 338,10 SEK
Silver price (XAG-SEK)
601,28 SEK/oz
- 11,05 SEK
An item can still be genuine silver even if it does not have a 925 stamp or hallmark. Colour, weight and a simple magnet test can provide clues, but home tests cannot confirm the silver content with certainty.
The safest option is professional testing. Bring the item to one of our Tavex stores in Stockholm, Gothenburg or Malmö, and we can test the silver and determine its purity for you.
