For the first time, the gold price has surpassed €100 per gram. Is this a signal to sell – or to buy?
On September 9, 2025, the gold price broke through the psychological barrier of €100 per gram for the first time. This is a level that analysts and investors in Europe have long discussed – and it has now become reality.
In US dollars, gold is currently trading around $3,645 per ounce, while Swedish investors are seeing levels of about SEK 1,090 per gram. The sharp increase highlights the continued strong demand for gold as a safe-haven asset in uncertain times.
Several factors are contributing to the surge. The US Federal Reserve is expected to cut interest rates, making gold more attractive compared to interest-bearing assets. At the same time, the dollar has weakened, giving gold prices in other currencies an additional boost.
Geopolitical tensions and a growing appetite among investors for safe assets are also pushing the price higher. The result is that gold has reached record levels – not only in euros, but also in dollars and Swedish kronor.
The question many are asking now is whether this is the perfect moment to sell, or if there’s still room for prices to climb further. The answer largely depends on your investment horizon.
To meet the high demand, we are currently offering a unique opportunity: if you sell your gold bars or investment coins to us, you will receive just −1% from the spot price. This is an unusually favorable condition, making it especially attractive to sell while the market is at record levels.
Please note: the offer is valid until Monday, September 22 2025!
If, on the other hand, you’re looking to continue buying gold, we have recently received new Year of the Horse gold coins.
Gold crossing the €100 per gram threshold is a historic milestone. If you’re considering selling your gold bars or coins, the timing is especially favorable right now – thanks to both the price level and our campaign of −1% from spot. For long-term savers, however, gold can remain a stable part of the portfolio – whether the next milestone arrives soon or further down the road.
